THE WORK
AS IT HAPPENS.

The worst time to reconstruct a job is weeks later when someone asks what exactly was done. Recording events as they happen reduces dependence on memory.

Keep a clear record

Create a case for each piece of work and keep dates, amounts, work notes, payments, files and deadlines connected to the same context.

Separate facts that mean different things

Agreed value, work performed and money received are separate facts. Keeping them separate makes partial payments and outstanding balances easier to understand.

Keep files with the work they belong to

Photos and documents are more useful when attached to the relevant case rather than scattered across unrelated apps and folders.

Use the record when you need to share context

A concise export or summary can be easier to review than disconnected screenshots and messages. Earnt does not certify facts or replace legal, tax or accounting advice.
